(We’re in Rome and I’ve set this up to post on it’s own on Feb. 27th so I hope it worked. If it didn’t, just pretend you’re reading this on the 27th.)

Today, we celebrate Anna and we are celebrating in Pompei and Sorrento but we also celebrated a little before we left.

Anna and her friend Sara have birthday’s close to one another so mom’s and daughters went out for lunch and then the birthday girls decorated their own cakes while mom’s sat upstairs and chatted over latte’s. All those birthday parties and cakes and games and favors I/we put together over all those years and now I get to sit back and drink a latte while she decorates her own cake. Sweet!

We ate at Marche’ and then they decorated their cakes at Icing. Although the decorating was fun, like most sweets in Singapore, the cake was not all that good. Just be warned in case you were wanting to go. Typically, Asians do not like sweet sweet desserts like we do which I’m sure has something to do with the difference in our sizes. :) It wasn’t expensive, though, so still worth the fun of decorating. Well, I say it wasn’t expensive. By Singapore standards it wasn’t expensive. We paid $18 SGD for the smallest cake and a few extra decorations. I could have bought a full sheet cake for that in the States. And it would have been sweet.

Enjoy these pics and excuse us while we celebrate Anna’s birthday in Pompei and Sorrento, Italy! I’ll share with you the real birthday celebration after we get back from our trip. It will be a very special day for a very special young woman.

Tommy lit her birthday candle 13 times. :)
