“Finish Ready” – what you say in Singapore when a task is finished or out of stock.
For example:
“Do you have Dr. Pepper in stock?” ”Sorry, no stock, finish ready.”
or
“Anna, did you clean your room?” ”Yes, lah. Finish ready.”
So the official moving process began on Monday. They packed up at the old place in one day and then unloaded at the new place on Tuesday. So the moving process is “finish ready”. They were like busy beavers. I was incredibly impressed that they got finished so quickly.
The unpacking process is most definitely not finish ready. We got rid of so much stuff but there’s no way that all we kept is going to fit. No way. No major moving casualties which is a miracle. We still have not been able to get our internet sorted out which is a pain but who has time for internet when you’re moving anyway? And only a few minor scratches on two corners of our dining room table and that’s because it had to come up 5 flights in the skinny condo stairwell. I should have had them protect the corners better but hindsight is 20 20. Why do they not make the stairwells bigger? Who knows… Perhaps only American have ginormous dining tables?!?!
My friend, Jennifer, conveniently stopped over to visit umm… help and my friend, Donna, is here visiting from Texas and got rooked into some of the unpacking as well. We even had time to play a little. Ok, well, we didn’t have time. We made time.
Today, we’ll unpack, go get massages and unpack some more. Best part of all is that we’ll be sleeping in our new place in our own beds tonight. I’m sure condo living will be vastly different than what we are used to. Always an adventure, right???
