Yep, I said it. Bet you never thought you’d read this here. I’m only saying it though because everyone else is saying it. Cold is such a relative term really.
The high today in Singapore was about 78 F, which for Singapore, is really pretty cool. It’s usually that for a low at like 2am and then by 5am it’s back up to 90.
It’s been raining for the last two days so that has kept it kind of cool. It’s nice and all but I’m losing my savage tan. And I’m thinking I might have to find these shoes if it doesn’t let up soon.
Anyway, Anna and I went to Holland Village for lunch today and then we got some frozen yogurt at The Coffee Bean. The lady at the nail salon was shocked that I was eating ice cream. Why??? Because “it’s COLD”, she said. She had her jacket on and it was zipped all the way up.
Today is the kind of day when the locals break out their sweaters and jackets and would not even think about turning on their a/c. I remember when we lived in Brazil when I was a kid. It was H.O.T. there too and we got so acclimatized to the heat that I remember putting on a sweater when it rained there. Not so much now. I produce a little more body heat now than I did when I was a scrawny 9 yr old.
So there you go. Today, was a “cold” 78 degrees, 94% humidity day in Singapore. I suppose this would be winter. I have to admit that I was pretty happy to wear pants instead of shorts. And I didn’t break a sweat. I might even wear jeans tomorrow!!! I think it’s supposed to be 84 F so I may have missed my chance in this 2 day season of Winter.
